Fathers Day

I loved my father, Jimmy Powers.  He had a certain Joie de vivre about him.  My dad had flair and pizzazz like no one else.  His attire was famous.  Not all his outfits seemed to go together but they did.   The picture below is one of my favorites of him.

He always had a pocket square or two in his blazer.  Always a good one liner. Loved a sneeky. He would have gotten such a kick out of his term sneeky being a word widely used now. Almost every weekend my father made “hero” sandwiches and soup. Either  hot or a great cold soup with vegetables from his garden in the warmer months, it is something I always looked forward to sharing with him.
